Dreamline – dream-come-true lines

In carp bottom angling, as in any angling technique, it is crucial to make sure that the rig in use has no weak spots. Sometimes the smallest, irrelevant to us at a first glance feature may turn around outcome of the entire expedition. Lately I had a chance to find out how much importance has properly adjusted and good quality line. Luckily for me it was a test with a positive outcome.

Being a tester for Mikado, I received Dreamline series lines in two versions. One of them was a carp line 0.22 mm diameter, and the second one was the Method Feeder of the same thickness. As I am visual person, Method Feeder really caught my eye straight away – that was due to its colour, softness and elasticity. I decided to spool both lines on my favourite Katsudo Feeder reels and to run a test that was supposed to tell me everything about their effectiveness. Next day I went to a contest organized at the S2 (no kill) fishery Trzydniaki. It is a fishery with lots of various species of fish, including large carps. After getting there I executed an obligatory check of the bottom and I ran a small reconnaissance of the area where I was supposed to compete for my final score. Initial distance I was to start angling at was qual to 80 meters. After few first casts I noticed a rather significant difference between those two lines. As I mentioned before, Method Feeder line was softer and allowed me to cast more easily at a picked distance; Carp line demanded more strength.

First fish that I caught during that contest was a 7.2 kg carp. Quite a result, so straight away I though that “it’s really ok” and a series of images of more marvellous fish came straight to my mind.

I got quickly dragged back to the earth though. It turned out that points will not arrive as easily and that they will require some effort. Next fish that got attracted to my rig sadly got snagged somewhere under the surface; luckily, I still managed to land it. More carp baits and another hauling with more and more annoying snags that I kept hitting.

After some time, I noticed clay on my line and some minor abrasions caused by rocks. In such heavy conditions and with such strong, autumn carps I thought that I won’t stand a chance. I simply was afraid that my lines will snap!

Two hours into the competition all baits stopped. I quickly decided to increase the angling distance to 100 m. In such distances you need to use quite some force in order to deliver the rig into the desired location. I was wondering how my new Dreamlines will feel about that, as I didn’t know what are they capable of at that time. Lack of time to re-rig made me having to trust them. I need to admit that I did not end up disappointed. Lines, despite abrasions, easily coped with all my powerful casts. Furthermore, it turned out to be easier to achieve such distance, due to a special coating that reduces friction by far.

I reached my goal. My rigs were being sent exactly to 100 m. After a brief moment a smile appeared on my face – fish started to show on a tip of my rod. Sadly, snags were keeping a calm and safe hauling away from me. At some point I even felt the line touching submerged tree trunks, sliding through that underwater labyrinth. Despite that I kept landing fish in that tough environment without further losses. I felt really good about it and happy that I decided to trust in the Dreamline series after all, as they helped me to achieve my great score. End of the contest brought me even more reasons to be happy, as points scored provided me with the first, winning position in classification.

Getting back to main characters of that event – the Dreamline lines. I can truly state that they are really doing the job. Hauling of carps exceeding 8 kg, tough conditions, snags, clay, abrasions – none of those factors made them less durable. On top of that they have no memory and they are not prone to twisting – that’s just great!

I am really pleasantly surprised, as this new product demonstrated some truly great power. Name of our main characters – the Dreamline, did not come from nowhere; they truly are dream-come-true lines. Dream of every angler about a reliable, never-failing product. I can easily recommend that product to anyone – both to amateur and professional anglers.
